This quarter, workin with Microsoft FrontPage has been such a rewarding experence. It teached me alot about web design, especially how creativity and technical skills comes together to build somethin meaningful. I learned to use it’s features, like integrating hyperlinks and formatting controls, to make websites look polished and professional. It opened my eyes to how small details—like layout and design—can really made a difference in how people experienced a website. There was definitely moments where things gets tricky. Figuring out layout alignment and making sure the website look good on different devices was a real challenge. And then their were times when my hyperlinks didn’t worked or the styling wasn’t consistent, which was frustrated. Balancing creativity with practicality wasn’t easy neither—it was tough to make the site engaging while keeping it functional and user-friendly. I didn’t gave up when things got tough. I took the time to research solutions and watch tutorials to...

ISNHS: a hundred and twenty-third year

The 123rd founding anniversary of our school Ilocos Sur National High School just happened! Everyyhing was so fun. The booths were quite interesting, especially the Jail and Marriage booths. Everything was quick, but those 2 days will be ingrained in the void of my memories. Practicing for the demonstration was hard, but fun. The weather was hot, sun scorching our skin. My tan skin, turning dark. Lady gaga's songs filling my head. Dancing with the flag was amazing. Being able to wield it while winds were soaring was fun. We tried our best, but got 4th place. Such a downgrade compared to being Champions last year, but atleast we had fun. Those experiences short, but meaningful. As a moving up student, it'll miss experiencing this with friends I cherish. I think that's why we celebrate this momentous occation. A way to honor friendships formed, knowledge learned, and moments created. By remembering the past, looking forward for the future, and cherishing the present. We get t...

Before I, there's WE

In today’s world, where the fight for equality continues to evolve, the theme "WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society" serves as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility. Despite societal progress, women still experience discrimination, violence, and harassment. These injustices highlight the need for strong laws and communal efforts to create a safe, inclusive environment for everyone. It is through such collective action that we can truly address the challenges and injustices that persist in our society.   One of the key laws that champion the protection of women is "RA 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997)". This law redefined the crime of rape, recognizing it as a crime against persons, emphasizing its grave impact on an individual’s dignity and well-being. It provides clear definitions and varying degrees of punishment to ensure that perpetrators are held accountable. The law acts as a beacon of hope for survivors, affirming that their voices ma...

Life in a Decade and a Half

Image
As a grade 10 student going into Senior High School, it is very common to start thinking of the future. Our future careers, life plans, goals, and even love lifes. All those, a constant part of imagining the future.        As for me, I'd answer the question "How do you see yourself 15 years from now?" with a simple "I don't know". Today at 16, my mind is constantly worrying about the life I have lived. What will happen to the memories I've cherished, if one day I am gonna sleep eternally?. Others are thinking  of their careers and dreams, and I try to do that, but how can I, when every passion and talent I have has already slipped pass my grasp? Everyone seems to have come up with a first and second plan, but here I am rotting away with my fleeting emotions.     On a serious note, I wish to study Dermatology, but even that is unsure. I'd like to think that I would already be a licensed Dermatologist, relaxing and enjoying check ups wi...

" Kanawidan Ilocos Sur~~" Do you remember this iconic line in the theme song for the Kanawidan Festival? That line was featured in the old version of the song. In which, it showcases a lot of significance towards one's culture.  The celebration of the festival is an essential part of a Ilokano's life IIn Ilocos Sur during the first two months of the year. The festival established to make the province one and promote each municipality's product and tradition. For many, it is not as significant as other well awaited festivals, but it serves as a reminder, that we Ilokanos aren't behind with products that every filipino can enjoy. One of the key aspects of the Kanawidan Festival is its ability to strengthen cultural identity. The festival highlights traditional practices, including indigenous dances, folk music, and rituals that have been passed down through generations. These performances allow younger Ilocanos to witness and appreciate their rich heritage, fos...
